around the house

Brought home this new jug by Ian McIntyre. Prized possession. It is fired at high temperatures, and glazed on the inside. Ian only seemed mildly alarmed when I said it would go next to the skull. I kept almost tripping on the way home but it was in so much bubble wrap anyway. It was Sunday and the flower market was on, but I think it should be appreciated alone at first. Next week, meadow flowers?
This phone photo by Jamie has been floating on the desktop for weeks. Fallen strawberries in the winter? I reckon it's a photo he's been thinking about, or has a plan to use somehow...

I bought that mcintyre jug last year when I was in London, and I love it. something really beautiful about the glaze inside and the soft sandpaper-y feel on the outside.

also, I really love jamie's desktop photo.

This is a very satisfying object indeed. From the website: "The jug and platter are made of Terracotta which has been fired to an unconventionally high temperature that vitrifies the body of the clay giving it the strength of stoneware and achieving the scorched colour."
